Artkim Exhibition Director of Sales Yasemin Yıldırım: "Our goal is to increase value-added production and exports"

Artkim Exhibition Director of Sales Yasemin Yıldırım evaluated Turkey's impressive growth in the Life Sciences field, which encompasses the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and food sectors, during her appearance on NTV. Yıldırım emphasized that Turkey continues its upward trend in the global market and that the sector's export potential is steadily strengthening.

"Turkey is making significant strides in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and food sectors. We are working to increase our country's value-added production and export capacity in the Life Sciences field," said Yıldırım, who also shared important information about the international exhibitions to be held in Istanbul on June 18-20.

The Heart of the Industry Will Beat in Istanbul

CHCI (Cosmetics), Pharmaist (Pharmaceutical), and FNI (Food) exhibitions will be held in Istanbul on June 18-20. These B2B format organizations will serve as a critical bridge in the sector's supply chain by bringing together raw material manufacturers and end-product producers.

Yıldırım stated, "Our exhibitions are important platforms where the latest innovations in the sector are displayed, global business connections are established, and Turkey's production capacity is introduced to international buyers. Sustainable production technologies, bio-based raw materials, and innovative formulations will be the focus of this year's organizations."

Renewable Raw Material Trends in the Cosmetics Sector

In parallel with global trends, the demand for products manufactured with microplastic-free, natural, and renewable ingredients is increasing in Turkey as well. This year's CHCI Exhibition will particularly focus on bioactive ingredients, plant-based polymers, and microbiome-friendly formulations.

Yasemin Yıldırım said, "Sustainability in the cosmetics industry has become a necessity, not a choice. Turkish cosmetics manufacturers are investing in raw materials and production processes compatible with the European Green Deal. Silica-based carriers, encapsulation technologies, and environmentally friendly packaging solutions will also be among the prominent topics at the exhibition."

Supply Chain Security in the Pharmaceutical Sector

In the post-pandemic period, supply chain security and localization strategies have gained significant importance in the pharmaceutical sector. The Pharmaist Exhibition stands out with its content focusing on this transformation.

"Reducing dependency on imported pharmaceutical raw materials is among Turkey's strategic goals," said Yıldırım. "Our exhibition will extensively cover the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), quality control processes, and traceability technologies. Additionally, we will create an important platform for collaborations that will increase Turkey's capacity in biotechnological drugs and advanced therapy medicinal products."

Functional Ingredients in Food Innovation

This year, the FNI Exhibition will particularly highlight functional food ingredients, probiotics, prebiotics, and health-focused dietary supplements. It will offer significant opportunities for transforming Turkey's rich agricultural resources into value-added products.

"We need to strengthen our raw material diversity and innovation capacity to increase Turkey's competitive advantage in food technologies," said Yıldırım. "Turkish producers have very valuable work in plant-based protein sources, fermentation technologies, and biopreservatives. At the FNI Exhibition, we will have the opportunity to introduce these innovations to the global market."

Sectoral Cooperation and Future Vision

Yasemin Yıldırım also highlighted the importance of R&D and innovation for sustainable growth in Turkey's cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and food sectors. "Value-added production and a strong supply chain are essential to stand out in global competition. Our exhibitions, which bring together all components of the sector, create an important synergy to achieve this goal," she stated.

Yıldırım concluded with these assessments: "Turkey's geographical location, production capacity, and qualified human resources strengthen its potential to become a regional center in the Life Sciences field. We provide the collaborative environment that the industry needs in terms of integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, green transformation processes, and integration into global value chains at our exhibitions."

This advancement in Turkey's Life Sciences sector is expected to play an important role in the country reaching its export targets and climbing higher in global value chains.
